Bilingual education + language

Language education and multilingualism: opportunities for good education.

Language skills play a huge role in a child's educational success. The education system in Germany is monolingual, so the educational facility Kita is an important place for language acquisition. At Terminal for Kids, we see the time before a child starts school as the best window of opportunity for language education and development, because this is when children learn language and its use in a natural way. The magic word here is interaction. In the day-to-day life of the day care centre, the children have many opportunities for interaction. Whether in the morning circle, in free play or in a project. Without really noticing it, the children are learning the language.

We put special value on the quality of interaction in our facilities and therefore want to offer all children a chance to develop good language skills.

Being multilingual: One of the most important skills in the 21st century and a child's right

We understand multilingualism as an enrichment of life and see it strongly as very welcome.  Children are language learners by nature. This is exactly what we want to support in our work. The child's mother tongue is a right that we as educational professionals protect and support.

Playful German - a window into the world of the German language

In our facilities, we want to make multilingualism present and provide easier access to the German language. We achieve this through the daily visit of our German-speaking hand puppets. In small fifteen-minute sessions, the children learn their first German words. Playfully and without force.

"For me, beeing multilingual opened doors to the whole world. Now it is my wish to share inspiration and my passion for languages with the whole world.

We give children the chance to intuitively learn grammar without defining the rules in advance. We offer them language and let them analyze and discover the way the English language works and how the grammar is structured."
